Greenwich Communication Centre C.I.C is a member of the London Re-Use Network - a network of charities and social enterprises whose mission is to divert re-usable items from landfill and incineration by creating collaborative and effective solutions with the public, private, and social sectors. The Network was set up with funding from the London Waste & Recycling Board to create an integrated network of re-use and repair facilities which work together to deliver public and commercial re-use services across London.
Here at Greenwich Communication Centre we provide free facilities for the disposal of redundant batteries, printer cartridges and computers which are then ethically recycled or repaired and re-used.
Batteries are made from important chemical resources, including lead, cadmium, zinc, lithium and mercury.
They can cause serious environmental damage if they are disposed of with other household waste, including soil and water and air pollution.
In partnership with ERP, Greenwich Communication Centre is delighted to provide our customers with a FREE battery recycling facility.
Each battery placed in the bright red recycling box in the centre will be responsibly recycled, with many of the recovered materials being used to make new batteries or other products.
